The anticipated enforcement operation follows the Trump administration's long-running effort to end Haiti's TPS designation, arguing that the program was never intended to become a permanent form of legal status.

Following the Supreme Court's decision, White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson called the ruling "a tremendous win" for the administration.

"Today, the Supreme Court affirmed what President Trump has always maintained: temporary protected status is, by definition, temporary. It was never intended to be a pathway to permanent status or legal residency," Jackson told Fox News Digital. "The Trump Administration continues to lawfully end the egregious abuses to our immigration system that have hurt Americans for years."

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) General Counsel James Percival also praised the ruling in a post on X.

"The Court vindicates DHS yet again," Percival wrote. "The T in TPS stands for TEMPORARY, yet many of these designations became de facto amnesty. This is a win for the rule of law and common sense."

Gilson, who had recently filed a protective order against her husband, 48-year-old Jeremiah "Shawn" Duffey, posted the TikTok video on July 11. It was captioned, "Preparing for when Netflix drops a documentary about my soon to be ex husband who I just found out is a pedophile." The video was still visible on her account as of Saturday.

Thirteen days after she posted that video, police reportedly responded to a domestic call on July 24 at 41-year-old Gilson's home. When officers arrived, they found Gilson and Duffey dead from apparent gunshot wounds, according to local outlet KTUL.

KTUL cited an extended family member who identified the pair as the dead bodies in the home and said that Jeremiah, who went by Shawn, allegedly broke into the home, killed Sara and then himself. Police insisted there was no threat to the public at this time, according to KRMG.

Duffey had allegedly been sending the girl inappropriate messages and had given her money "to keep her quiet," the outlet reported.

Gilson had also filed two previous protective orders against Duffey, though both were dismissed after Gilson failed to appear at the hearings, People reported.

Gilson and Duffey had reportedly shared children of their own.

"You know your shark rules," the officer could be heard on the video telling Seifert. "You can’t fully or partially remove sixgill from the water.

"When you wrestle a sixgill to shore like that, you hop on its back, you expose its gills to the air," the officer continued. "You know as well as anybody else does that Puget Sound is a nursery for these sharks. There has been a direct correlation between catching these sharks in this stage in their lives and the mortality of the pups inside the moms."

He added, "Once they exhaust themselves being fought to shore, then all of their babies die. And then, sooner than you know it, you’re not going to have sixgill and sevengill returning to Puget Sound anymore."

He has been charged in Pierce County with nine counts of unlawful recreational fishing in the second degree and one count of making a false or misleading statement to a public servant. The first is a misdemeanor and the second is a gross misdemeanor.

Misdemeanors carry up to a $1,000 fine and 90 days in jail if found guilty and gross demeanors carry up to a $5,000 fine and a year in jail.

"Fishing for sixgill and sevengill sharks is unlawful, and unfortunately, officers are seeing a growing number of online posts showing these sharks targeted and then unlawfully removed from or partially removed from the water," the department said in a post about Seifert’s charges.

Seifert claimed that he hadn’t been targeting the sharks and that he had accidentally caught them, but videos he posted to social media that allegedly showed him holding a shark’s mouth open, while sitting on its back and holding it by its tail on the shore while it attempted to get away paint another picture.

The department said it has gotten 14 complaints about Seifert, mainly connected to his allegedly targeting the sharks.

"Puget Sound acts like a nursey for sixgill and sevengill sharks before they head out to the ocean, the department said.

The department added, "This is one of the primary reasons why it is unlawful to target these sharks locally, as the anglers fishing for these creatures are targeting them during a highly volatile era in the animals' lives."

Both shark species are listed as "Species of Greatest Conservation Need" in Washington State.

Bluntnose sixgills are categorized as "near threatened" and broadnose sevengills are "vulnerable," according to the International Union for Conservation of Nature.

Keegan Thompson, 33, was shot by police and arrested after the explosion, according to NYPD Assistant Chief Christopher McIntosh. Authorities later discovered two dead family members inside the home.

Officers responded just after noon to a home on Ocean Crest Boulevard in Far Rockaway after a caller reported her husband was armed, McIntosh said.

When police arrived, they encountered a woman outside the home who said she had heard gunshots, entered a room and found a body on a bed before leaving the house and calling 911. 

She also warned officers that her husband had a shotgun, officials said.

Officers established a perimeter, requested the NYPD Emergency Service Unit (ESU) and repeatedly attempted to contact the suspect but were unable to establish communication.

At about 12:15 p.m., as ESU officers prepared to enter, a large explosion erupted inside the home, McIntosh said.

Fifteen to 20 seconds later, the suspect emerged from the burning home carrying a shotgun while wearing a tactical vest loaded with ammunition.

Officers repeatedly ordered the suspect to raise his hands and drop the weapon, police said. When he failed to comply and continued holding the shotgun, an officer fired, striking him.

He was taken into custody, and officers rendered aid before he was taken to Jamaica Hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition.

McIntosh said Thompson has no criminal history or history of mental illness documented by the NYPD.

Officers later found two dead family members inside the home. The victims have not been identified, and investigators are working to determine their causes of death.

As flames engulfed the house, responding officers evacuated neighboring homes to protect nearby residents.

Investigators have not determined what caused the explosion. When asked whether explosives were involved, McIntosh said the investigation remains ongoing.

"The bravery of the officers who responded today cannot be overstated," McIntosh said. "They responded to a 911 call not knowing what was waiting for them, and they ran toward the danger with no hesitation."

The shooting was captured on officers' body-worn cameras and is being investigated by the NYPD's Force Investigation Division.

Later Saturday, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani said on X that he had been briefed on the incident and that his administration was in contact with law enforcement as the investigation continued.

FBI Director Kash Patel told Fox News Digital she had been living under the fake identity "Harley Newman" while evading charges tied to an alleged $32 million pandemic relief fraud scheme.

Elaine Angene Escoe, 41, arrived back in South Florida Thursday after Jamaican authorities arrested her after a federal manhunt. Prosecutors allege she helped fraudulently obtain more than $32 million in taxpayer-funded COVID-19 relief funds before fleeing the country after failing to appear in federal court.

Escoe was indicted in 2025 on charges including conspiracy to commit wire fraud, wire fraud, conspiracy to commit money laundering and multiple counts of money laundering, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Florida.

Federal prosecutors said a judge issued an arrest warrant after Escoe failed to appear in court in May 2025. Authorities allege she fled to Jamaica, where she was later located and arrested after the FBI received a tip.

Patel called Escoe's arrest another milestone in the FBI's international fraud crackdown, saying she is the fourth alleged "Most Wanted Fraudster" captured in the past five weeks.

"The historic success of the 'Most Wanted Fraudster' list continues as the FBI, and our partners just captured our fourth Most Wanted Fraudster in 5 weeks, and yet another high value target returned to the U.S. by this FBI," Patel said. "Elaine Angene Escoe, on the run since May 2025, was captured in Jamaica while living under a fake identity of 'Harley Newman' — and returned to the United States today to face justice."

Patel said Escoe was charged with being involved in a conspiracy to commit wire fraud and money laundering using a scheme that fraudulently obtained more than $32 million in federal COVID-19 relief funds.

He added that the FBI has returned more than 30 high-value targets to the U.S. since June. Patel said four alleged fraud suspects captured over the past five weeks are collectively charged with nearly $1.8 billion in fraud after spending more than 3,500 days on the run across three continents.

"Under this administration, fraud is no longer tolerated, and those who steal from American taxpayers have nowhere to hide," Patel said.

Authorities said the FBI, Homeland Security Investigations, the U.S. Marshals Service, Jamaican law enforcement and the Palm Beach County State Attorney's Office coordinated Escoe's return to the U.S.

The dolls began as a research program in the University of Minnesota Medical School's Department of Family Medicine and Community Health, spearheaded by two members of the school's faculty, Dianne Berg and G. Nic Rider, both educators in the school's Department of Family Medicine and Community Health.

"It’s really important to address the belief, ‘I’m not a 'real' boy because I don’t have these private parts,’ versus, ‘I am a real boy, whatever my anatomy looks like,’" Berg told the Foundation's magazine in the now-deleted article.

The project is one of many pro-transgender state-funded efforts under Walz, according to the Post.

In 2023, the University of Minnesota’s ISGH presented Walz with the Distinguished Sexual and Gender Health Champion Award "for his outstanding efforts in protecting sexual and reproductive health care (PRO Act, HF 1) and gender-affirming health care (Executive Order 23-03) in Minnesota," the school wrote in its annual report in 2023.

David Allen O'Brien, who lives in The Villages, a sprawling retirement community in central Florida, was arrested Tuesday on charges of aggravated assault after allegedly chasing down a 21-year-old woman he had paid in a "sugar baby" arrangement and ramming her car with his truck, according to the arrest report.

The arrest report details how O'Brien met the woman on the dating app Tinder and told her he was "looking for a sugar baby," a romantic arrangement that typically involves an older man spending lavishly on a younger woman.

The pair agreed to meet July 21, and O'Brien told the woman he would give her $1,000 "each visit ... dinner and I love to shop for you," according to the affidavit.

The woman showed up to dinner with three friends waiting in the car, according to the affidavit.

When she arrived, O'Brien gave the woman $200 and took her shopping for lingerie. They then went to dinner, where he gave her another $600. Afterward, they went back to his home where she "began to feel uncomfortable and contacted her friends to come pick her up," the arrest report reads.

"The defendant stated he began to massage [the woman's] feet and she was on her phone the entire time. The defendant advised [the woman] went to the bathroom and when she came out she stated she was going to call an Uber to pick her up," the report states.

O'Brien then told the woman she "should give the money back because that was not the agreement," the report adds. She got into her friends' car, at which point O'Brien allegedly began chasing them in his Ford F-150 truck.

When the four friends reached a traffic circle, O'Brien rammed their car with his truck, forcing it to crash into a telephone pole, according to the affidavit. Three of them fled, but when the fourth, a 22-year-old male, attempted to leave, he was met by O'Brien allegedly pointing a gun in his face.

"The defendant pointed his 22 semi-automatic Ruger at him and told him to get on the ground or he would kill him," the arrest report read.

The man "was on the ground face down and noticed that the defendant was distracted so he was able to move to safety."

When police arrived, they found O'Brien at his truck with his weapon in possession, according to the arrest report.

O'Brien claimed the car he was chasing had its tail lights blacked out, a sign, to him, that meant he had been "scammed," according to the arrest report.

O'Brien was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without the intent to kill and aggravated battery. He was transferred to Sumter County Jail "without incident," according to the arrest report.

His arraignment is scheduled for Aug. 14, according to Sumter County records.

Beginning in June 2016, Angela Diaz told Anaheim police that Hadley was sending her increasingly violent emails and threatening her and her alleged unborn children. She also accused Hadley of impersonating her online and directing men to the home for "rape fantasy" encounters.

At least two men who intended to travel to the condominium told investigators they believed they had been invited to participate in consensual "rape fantasy" encounters, prosecutors said. On June 24, Angela Diaz called 911 and claimed a man had entered her garage and tried to rape her.

Police arrested Hadley that day and released her on $100,000 bail. She was arrested again on July 14 and held on $1 million bail as the alleged threats continued.

Hadley faced felony charges carrying a potential life sentence as authorities initially portrayed her as a jilted former lover who had launched a calculated revenge campaign.

But there were problems with the case.

After Hadley’s first arrest, Angela Diaz reported that the emails had stopped. When Hadley was released, the threatening messages resumed even though Hadley did not yet have access to her email, prosecutors later said.

Hadley remained jailed until Oct. 7, 2016, when prosecutors released her.

On Jan. 9, 2017, Orange County District Attorney Tony Rackauckas dismissed every charge and publicly declared her "fully exonerated."

Investigators traced the threatening emails and sexual advertisements not to Hadley but to the condominium shared by Ian and Angela Diaz, Angela’s cellphone and her father’s home in Arizona, according to the district attorney’s office.

Authorities said Angela Diaz used approximately eight email accounts, VPNs and proxy servers to hide the messages’ origins.

She sent herself threats, posed as Hadley and provided men with photographs of herself, her address and details about her daily routine.

The investigation also uncovered a wider pattern of deception. Prosecutors said Angela Diaz had faked cervical cancer, pretended to be an attorney, forged doctors’ notes, fabricated a pregnancy and altered checks.

Angela Diaz pleaded guilty in October 2017 to charges, including kidnapping, false imprisonment, forgery, perjury, grand theft and falsely reporting crimes. She was sentenced to five years in state prison.

Ian Diaz insisted he knew nothing of Angela's machinations, but a federal probe into Diaz launched in 2017 revealed that he masterminded the entire plot. He was indicted in 2021 and was relieved of his duties as a criminal investigator in Los Angeles.

A jury in the Central District of California convicted Ian of one count each of conspiracy to commit cyberstalking, cyberstalking, perjury and obstructing a federal proceeding.

Hadley later filed a federal lawsuit against the City of Anaheim, four city employees, Angela Diaz and Ian Diaz over the case that led to her arrest and imprisonment.

In an April 2021 court filing reviewed by Fox News Digital, Hadley’s attorneys said she and the Anaheim defendants had reached a settlement that was approved by the City Council. The agreement would result in the dismissal of her claims against the city and its employees.

The filing also said Hadley and Angela Diaz were finalizing a separate written agreement. It did not reveal the financial terms or other details of either settlement.

Fox News Digital has reached out to Hadley's attorneys for comment.

Merrimack County Superior Court Judge James Kennedy heard arguments Monday on Smart's petition for habeas corpus relief before taking the matter under advisement. Kennedy said he expects to issue a written ruling within 30 to 60 days.

Smart, now 58, filed the petition in January seeking to overturn her conviction, arguing prosecutors misled jurors by providing transcripts of secretly recorded conversations that included words her attorneys say cannot actually be heard on the recordings.

Among the disputed words are "killed" in the phrase "you had your husband killed," "busted" in the phrase "I'm gonna be busted," and "murder" in the phrase "this would have been the perfect murder."

Earlier this year, Smart's attorney, Matthew Zernhelt, said the new research shows "modern science confirms what common sense has always told us: when people are handed a script, they inevitably hear the words they are shown." He argued jurors "were not evaluating the recordings independently – they were being directed toward a conclusion, and that direction decided the verdict."

During Monday's hearing, Zernhelt argued the petition clears the low bar required to survive a motion to dismiss, saying the court's role at this stage is simply to determine whether it alleges sufficient facts to warrant an evidentiary hearing.

Pointing to new forensic research, Zernhelt argued written transcripts can influence how jurors interpret difficult-to-hear recordings.

Zernhelt also pointed to recordings a juror made after each day of trial, arguing they show the juror relied on the written transcripts to understand the recordings and ultimately voted to convict Smart.

Assistant Attorney General John Drennan urged Kennedy to dismiss the petition, arguing Smart is attempting to relitigate issues that have already been decided by appellate courts over the past three decades.

Prosecutors argued nearly all of Smart's claims either were raised and rejected on direct appeal by the New Hampshire Supreme Court or could have been raised years ago but were not.

Prosecutors also noted that during Smart's trial, the defense challenged the transcripts only over the alleged "doubling" of voices when two people spoke at once – not over the specific inaccuracies now being alleged.

Jurors also were instructed that if the transcripts differed from the recordings, they should rely on what they heard. The New Hampshire Supreme Court later found Smart's attorneys failed to make a "particularized showing of inaccuracies in the transcripts relative to the recordings or how she may have been prejudiced" by them.

Drennan challenged the scientific study cited by Smart's attorneys, arguing the court has not received sufficient information about its methodology and that it does not demonstrate actual prejudice to the jury. He also noted jurors were instructed that the recordings – not the accompanying transcripts – constituted the evidence.

"Maybe cognitive bias has set in," Drennan argued, comparing the issue to reading an automated voicemail transcript before listening to the recording itself. "It doesn't mean that I can't, when listening, say, 'I'm not sure that's right.' I know to review it. I know to be skeptical."

Kennedy questioned both sides throughout the hearing, including whether Smart's claims regarding the disputed transcripts had already been addressed by the New Hampshire Supreme Court on direct appeal and what specific language in the transcripts allegedly prejudiced the jury.

The judge did not indicate how he intends to rule.

Smart's attorneys also argue widespread media coverage tainted the verdict and that jurors received flawed instructions, including that they were told they had to find Smart acted with premeditation and were not instructed to consider only evidence presented at trial.

They also contend she should not have received a mandatory life sentence without parole because she was convicted as an accomplice to first-degree murder rather than as the shooter.

Prosecutors contend those claims either were previously litigated, could have been raised years ago or lack factual support.

In 1990, Flynn and 17-year-old Patrick Randall entered the Smarts' Derry condominium, forced Gregory Smart to his knees and shot him once in the head with a hollow-point bullet. Two other teenagers helped plan the killing.

Flynn and the three other teenagers involved in the murder later cooperated with prosecutors and have since been released from prison.

Smart's latest legal challenge comes after she publicly accepted responsibility for her husband's death in 2024.

In a prison video obtained by Fox News Digital, Smart said she spent years deflecting blame "almost as if it was a coping mechanism" before acknowledging her role in Gregory Smart's killing.

"I take full responsibility for my part in Gregory's murder," Smart said at the time.

Smart has repeatedly challenged her conviction through state and federal courts over the past three decades but has never obtained a new trial. Her requests for sentence reductions and clemency have also been denied, including by Gov. Kelly Ayotte last year.

Wells, 18, disappeared July 4 after a boat trip with friends to Horn Island, a barrier island off Mississippi's Gulf Coast. A National Park Service ranger found his remains on the island's northwestern tip two days later, on July 6, after crews searched the area.

Wells' friends returned to the mainland that afternoon without him. Jackson County Sheriff John Ledbetter has said investigators believe Wells chose to stay on the island. It wasn't until later that night that his mother learned from one of Wells' friends that he was missing, and she reported it to authorities.

The stretch of water between Horn Island, where Wells was found dead, and neighboring Ship Island is known to locals as a "washing machine" because of its deadly rip currents, United Cajun Navy Vice President Brian Trascher told Fox News Digital. Authorities previously told the Associated Press that foul play isn't suspected.

"Yeah, there is some kind of nickname for it, and it's because they've had a lot of drownings in that area and on that island. And to the west, there's Ship Island, just another few miles to the West. And in between those two islands, there's a strong divergent occurrence," Trascher said. "And that area is called the washing machine by locals."

Based on conversations with people who were on Horn Island on July 4, Trascher said the rip current that day was "extremely strong," adding that the water off the island's northwest tip can go from shallow to deep in just a few steps.

While Wells knew how to swim and swam regularly, Trascher said a strong rip current can overpower even an experienced swimmer, especially if panic, sun exposure or alcohol are factors.

Trascher said one of the biggest unresolved questions in Wells' death is what happened between when he was last seen, around 4 or 4:30 p.m. on July 4, and when his body was found, calling it a "gaping hole" that still needs to be answered.

"I've heard virtually no explanation, no eyewitness accounts. Nobody seemed to see him after that... there don't seem to be any photographs or videos of him after that time. So what happened? It wasn't dark yet. There was still a lot of people on the island... why did he just vanish and show up dead two days later?" Trascher said. "That is a question that needs to be asked. And I'm not suggesting that means that there was foul play involved. I'm just saying that there is a gaping hole in the story that needs to filled."

During a Wednesday news conference, attorney Ben Crump revealed that an area of "red discoloration" was found on Wells' head, but said Dr. Roger Mitchell, who performed an independent autopsy, couldn't come to a conclusion on a cause or manner of death "pending further investigation." An official autopsy into Wells' death hasn't been completed.

When asked by Fox News Digital about the case, forensic pathologist Dr. Michael Baden said the head injury doesn't point to foul play.

"So that could be from bumping into something in the water. There's a lot of debris in the water, for example. It depends how deep it is, but it's describing a really superficial impact that could have happened before death or after death," Baden said. "What he's describing is a minor injury that could be... totally innocent."

Without having additional information, Mitchell wrote in his report that he couldn't rule out the possibility that "non-accidental factors contributed to or caused the death."

After pleading guilty and being sentenced Tuesday to decades behind bars, ICE lodged an immigration detainer against Ulises Raigoza-Martinez, requesting that Tennessee officials notify the agency before his release, so federal authorities can take him into custody for removal proceedings, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

The case stems from a June 19, 2024, encounter in the parking lot of the Nashville restaurant Smokin' Thighs, where investigators claim Raigoza-Martinez stopped to steal tools from owner Matt Carney's pickup truck.

During a perp walk Friday afternoon, Raul Morales, 51, could be heard yelling "Justice for the Romero family" to reporters, mentioning an unknown woman by name, and vowing, "you're going to remember her name forever." 

It is unclear who the woman is, and what the possible significance is of the remarks.

According to the NYPD, Morales was being transported to Downtown Manhattan for central booking following the perp walk.

Morales is charged with attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon in connection with the stabbing of a 57-year-old Asian man, the NYPD confirmed.

In the attack on a 50-year-old Jewish man, Morales is charged with attempted murder as a hate crime, assault as a hate crime, assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

Morales' roommate told the New York Post that the 51-year-old calmly told him he was "just going for a walk in the park" before leaving the apartment Thursday. The roommate said Morales did not appear angry or agitated before the attacks.

Neighbors who knew Morales said they were shocked by the allegations. Several residents told the New York Post they had never seen him display violent or erratic behavior in the years they had known him.

Police said the stabbings appeared to be separate attacks that happened near each other Thursday afternoon on the Upper West Side. 

Authorities said there was no known connection between Morales and either victim or between the two victims.

Investigators also executed a search warrant Friday at Morales' Upper West Side apartment as they continued to piece together a possible motive for the attacks. Police have not publicly disclosed what, if anything, was recovered during the search.

According to police, Morales allegedly yelled "Allahu Akbar" during the attacks. The NYPD is investigating whether bias played a role. 

One victim is Jewish, while the other is Asian, police said.

Both victims were taken to a hospital in stable condition. 

Police said initial findings suggest mental health may have been a factor in the attacks, though Morales had no known mental health history with the NYPD.

The New York Post, citing law enforcement sources, reported Morales previously served about two years in state prison on drug charges in the early 1990s and remained on probation for much of that decade. The outlet also reported Morales had at least two prior drug-possession arrests and five sealed arrests.

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani condemned the attacks as "hateful and despicable," while New York Gov. Kathy Hochul said she was "disgusted" by what appeared to be another attack targeting the Jewish community.

Joanna Ruth Shields, 37, died of "probable alcohol withdrawal seizures due to chronic alcohol use disorder," the sheriff's office said.

Shields was found dead April 9 near Sykes Hot Springs along the Pine Ridge Trail in Los Padres National Forest. Investigators initially treated the case as suspicious because her cause of death was unknown, and hikers reported seeing a head wound and marks on her neck.

The sheriff's office said investigators found no evidence Shields was the victim of a crime.

She was found lying near a shallow creek wearing a black sports bra, with her clothing, sandals and a water bottle nearby, according to authorities.

An autopsy determined a laceration above her left eye was superficial and did not contribute to her death.

Investigators also concluded the marks on her neck were caused by postmortem insect activity and found no evidence of strangulation.

"Investigators found no evidence during the forensic examination or throughout the investigation to indicate that Ms. Shields was the victim of a crime," the coroner's report states.

Fox News Digital previously reported that witnesses who discovered Shields' body told local media they encountered a man who identified himself as her friend and said he had found her after the pair became separated on the trail.

At the time, Monterey County Sheriff's Office Cmdr. Andres Rosas urged the public not to jump to conclusions, saying investigators were working to determine the cause of death and that everyone at the scene had cooperated.

The coroner's report also states Shields had a history of bipolar disorder and alcohol use disorder. Family members told investigators her mental health declined in the months before her death after she stopped taking prescribed psychiatric medication. Her sister also told investigators Shields had previously experienced alcohol withdrawal seizures before becoming sober.

Monterey County Sheriff-Coroner Tina Nieto said she hopes the findings provide answers for Shields' loved ones.

Colt Gray, who previously pleaded not guilty last October, entered the new plea Friday without reaching a deal with prosecutors. Gray, who was 14 at the time of the shooting, was charged as an adult with 55 total counts, including murder in the four deaths and 25 counts of aggravated assault. His trial had been scheduled to start in mid-October.

Teachers Richard "Ricky" Aspinwall, 39, and Cristina Irimie, 53, and students Mason Schermerhorn and Christian Angulo, both 14, died in the September 2024 shooting in Barrow County, about 45 miles northeast of Atlanta. Another teacher and eight more students were wounded, seven of them hit by gunfire.

Shayna Aspinwall, Richard Aspinwall's wife, told the judge on Friday that the "grief of losing him is constant" and lamented that the lives of their daughters, who were 2 and 5 when their father died, will be "forever marked by his absence."

Breanna Schermerhorn, whose son Mason was killed, told the judge she does not forgive Colt Gray. She said that while adults around him missed multiple warning signs, he was the one who decided to bring a gun to school and to pull the trigger.

"Those decisions were his and his alone," she said.

She described her son as someone who "made people that were typically unseen feel seen, accepted and safe" and said she was confident he would have befriended Colt Gray if he'd had the chance.

"Mason deserved a future and we all deserved a future with Mason in it, and Colt took that from Mason and everyone who loved him," she said. She and two of Mason's sisters asked the judge for a sentence of life without parole.

Before accepting the plea, Barrow County Superior Court Judge Nicholas Primm asked Gray a series of questions meant to ensure that the teenager was aware of the consequences of his plea and was entering it voluntarily. To each question, Gray responded, "Yes, your honor."

Because he pleaded guilty to murder, Gray faces a minimum sentence of life in prison, according to The Associated Press. The judge must decide whether he should be eligible for parole after hearing victim statements, evidence and each side's summary of the case.

Gray sat at a table in the courtroom with his feet chained together next to his attorney. Members of the community, including some victims and family members, were present in the courtroom.

A jury in March convicted his father, Colin Gray, of charges including second-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter, and he is scheduled to be sentenced next week.

Prosecutors successfully argued that Colin Gray provided his son with the AR-15-style rifle used in the attack as a Christmas gift, continued buying him ammunition, despite being aware of his mental health deterioration and prior school shooting threats investigated by law enforcement.

New York Attorney General Letitia James said both victims in Thursday’s attack are currently in stable condition. The suspect, identified as Raul Morales, 51, is accused of yelling "Allahu Akbar" while stabbing two men on Thursday afternoon, according to officials.

"When the mayor of New York repeatedly uses his platform to relentlessly single out and demonize Israel, the world's only Jewish state, and calls those who support it monsters, he contributes to a climate in which Jewish New Yorkers are increasingly targeted and unsafe," Eric Goldstein, the CEO of the UJA-Federation of New York, said Friday.

"Mayor Mamdani, stop fanning the flames of hatred and division. The consequences are not abstract. They are playing out on our streets. But make no mistake, we're not going anywhere. The Jewish community of New York, the largest in the world outside Israel, will continue to walk the streets of the Upper West Side and all the streets of New York openly and proudly," he added.

"You know when I was growing up, the only time we saw security outside of my synagogue or outside of my Jewish day school was when the mayor came to speak. The police were there to protect him. Today, every time the mayor speaks, we need the police to protect us," he added. "Jewish life in America is starting to feel like Jewish life in Europe. Armed guards, bulletproof glass, and the constant fear that yesterday's rhetoric will turn into today's assault."

When asked by Fox News Digital for a response, Mamdani's office highlighted remarks the mayor made to NY1 on Friday, in which he said, "There's no tolerance for antisemitism or hatred of any kind in this city."

"This is a city that believes in the beauty and the breadth of all of its five boroughs and everyone who calls it home. And if anyone is perpetrating this kind of a bigotry, that kind of hatred, they will be held fully accountable," Mamdani told the station.

"When it comes to my comments about Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, they are critiques not based on my personal analysis but rather on objective facts," he added. "They are critiques of a political leader not of people of a specific faith or a religion or a background and my responsibility as the mayor of this city is to keep every New Yorker safe, no matter where they come from, what they believe in, or frankly, even if they agree with my politics. My job is to keep them safe."

The victims were identified in media reports as Chok Sung, 57, and Moshe Grunhaus, 50.

"So many people know Moshe, so many people care about him. He was just trying to pray at his synagogue, and now we're the ones praying for his recovery," Levine said. "To have been stabbed 200 feet from the Jewish center evokes all the worst images of the Jewish past. Goldstein added that Mamdani's recent video in which he called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a "war criminal" was "political grandstanding."

"This is the largest Jewish community in the world outside of Israel. His words have profound real world consequences on us and shame on him. Shame on him for doing this for perceived political benefit when it has real world consequence for the Jews of New York. He must stop," Goldstein said.

James said after speaking with the NYPD commissioner and local district attorney, "they have asked me not to draw any conclusions as a result of last night's event."

"What I do want to say is that it's really critically important that individuals understand that anti-Semitic acts have been growing in the city of New York. It's really critically important," she said. "And then also acts against the Asian community have also been on the increase. So it's important that I stand with my Jewish friends, that I stand with my Asian friends, that I let everyone know that there should not be any space between any of us, that we should stand together against any form of hate, any act of hate in the city and the state of New York, that it will not be tolerated."

Plymouth Superior Court Judge William Sullivan ruled Friday that the media and public may not record, display, reproduce or distribute Patrick Clancy’s initial 911 call or autopsy photographs of 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson and 8-month-old Callan Clancy.

The evidence may still be presented to jurors during Lindsay Clancy’s trial, which is set to begin Monday with opening statements.

Reporters may also describe what is heard or shown in court but cannot broadcast or publish the recording or images themselves, according to the two-page order.

Patrick Clancy had asked Sullivan to restrict the public and media’s ability to record, broadcast or distribute evidence, including the 911 call, family and crime-scene photographs, autopsy images and the clothing the children were wearing.

Sullivan’s order specifically bars the reproduction or dissemination of the 911 recording and autopsy photographs. It does not prevent prosecutors or the defense from introducing the evidence at trial.

Sullivan wrote that the release or reproduction of the material would create a "substantial likelihood of harm" or another harmful consequence for Patrick Clancy and the children’s family.

Sullivan issued the ruling after hearing arguments from attorneys representing Patrick Clancy, prosecutors and Lindsay Clancy. Boston Globe Media Partners also filed a response opposing aspects of the request, according to the order.

Prosecutors say the migrants were loaded into the container near Del Rio before it was transported by train across the state. Six were later found dead inside it in Laredo and a seventh was discovered near railroad tracks at the San Antonio stop, according to authorities.

The victims — four Mexican nationals and three Honduran nationals — had no chance of escape because the container could not be opened from the inside, according to prosecutors.

"The ultimate destination for these aliens who began their journey in Del Rio was likely San Antonio. Once the train got to San Antonio, this alien smuggling organization that facilitated the movement of these individuals opened the train car doors," U.S. Attorney Justin R. Simmons said at a press conference on Friday.

"There was one individual inside that then fell out of the car. They left that individual for dead there by the tracks in San Antonio, closed the door to the container and sent the train on its way, the train ultimately ending up in Laredo, Texas, where the other six bodies were found," Simmons added.

One of the victims was a 14-year-old child, while another individual inside the car "frantically contacted their family as they were dying from the sweltering heat in that container," Simmons said.

The 11 defendants — four of them from the U.S. and seven from either Mexico, Honduras or Guatemala — allegedly ran a human smuggling organization from around April 2023 until May 2026, according to the indictment.

The group allegedly used cargo trains to get migrants further into the interior of the U.S. after getting them across the border, per the indictment.

Prosecutors allege that toward the end of April this year, the organization began facilitating the travel of the group of seven migrants who would later die in the shipping container.

Each of the victims paid the smugglers between $1,500 and $10,000 to be transported from Acuña, Mexico, into the U.S., according to the indictment.

On the afternoon of May 9, the migrants made it into Del Rio, where the smugglers allegedly used a bolt cutter to snap the lock off a Conex shipping container that was aboard a stationary Union Pacific train, prosecutors said.

Once inside the container, the migrants were dealing with outside temperatures of 88 to 92 degrees Fahrenheit, according to investigators.

The train traveled along U.S. 90 to San Antonio, about 150 miles away from Del Rio, where the smugglers caught up with the migrants and found them "in peril," prosecutors said.

According to the indictment, the smugglers that were there allegedly left one of the migrants who had already died near the railroad tracks before abandoning the rest of the migrants inside the shipping container as it traveled to Laredo.

The next day, a worker at the Union Pacific Railyard in Laredo saw a leg sticking out of the container, leading to the discovery of the dead migrants, the indictment said.

San Antonio authorities later discovered the body of the migrant who had been left by the railroad tracks, prosecutors said.

Nine of the 11 people charged in connection with the smuggling and the deaths of the migrants have been arrested and are now in federal custody.

Mayra Alejandra Huerta, 32, of Del Rio, was the first to be arrested on May 12.

Last week, eight other defendants charged in the indictment were arrested in central and south Texas as part of a Homeland Security Task Force operation.

Those arrested from the U.S. were Edson Alejandro Perez, 18, of Del Rio; and Eric Hernandez, 40, of Eagle Pass, Texas.

Another two defendants arrested were from Honduras — Jonas Ulloa-Aguilera, 25, and Franklin Williams Ayala Aguilera, 30.

Three more were from Mexico — Maria Norma Neri de Moran, 56; Damian Huerta Analucas, 55; and Rosario Cristal Lopez-Saldana, 26.

Finally, Pascual Raymundo Loarca, 34, of Guatemala, was also arrested in the Homeland Security operation.

Two of those charged remain at large, including 37-year-old Karina Garcia of Del Rio and 35-year-old Seferino Huerta-Casillas of Mexico.

All the defendants were charged with one count of conspiracy to transport illegal aliens resulting in death and one count of aiding and abetting transport of illegal aliens resulting in death. They face a maximum of life in prison.
